In order to prepare for the nature of direct outreach in a postmodern culture, our team read the book "How Should We Live Then" by Colson & Pearcy. It's an excellent read for an introduction to worldviews, their effects and their results.
Some of the most influential books on the subject of postmodernism would be by Francis A. Schaeffer, including "The God Who Is There," "Escape From Reason," & "How Should We Then Live" (which obviously influenced Colson). First and foremost, this trip is 17 days long and for many team members it's the longest they've been away from home. We'd love to hear from you, so feel free to check back often and comment by clicking on the spaces beneath each entry!
Secondly, pray for the team members and those they'll come in contact with. This ministry is entirely relational...and each day we'll simply be waking up and trying to find someone to share the Gospel with. We'd truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers!

I'm sitting here trying to think of how to properly express my excitement about going back to Holland with all of you and I am simply left speechless! In case you don't know, I went with the team in 2003 and as a result fell in love with the country and lived there for six months. I feel so blessed to be on this team of awesome people. I am so stoked to go back and spend time with my close friends over there. I talk to them numerous times a week still and I am also excited as Ilse, a girl i held Bible studies with when i was there, has made the descision to be baptised! Coming from a non-Christian home this is such a big thing! I am glad our team can share in it and be a part of this joyous occassion. I pray God continues to soften the hearts of the unnamed Dutch He will reveal to us when proper. I hope you all continue to check back on our trip's progression so you can remain a part of this expedition for God as well! May He continue to bless you to be a blessing!
