In order to prepare for the nature of direct outreach in a postmodern culture, our team read the book "How Should We Live Then" by Colson & Pearcy. It's an excellent read for an introduction to worldviews, their effects and their results.
Some of the most influential books on the subject of postmodernism would be by Francis A. Schaeffer, including "The God Who Is There," "Escape From Reason," & "How Should We Then Live" (which obviously influenced Colson). First and foremost, this trip is 17 days long and for many team members it's the longest they've been away from home. We'd love to hear from you, so feel free to check back often and comment by clicking on the spaces beneath each entry!
Secondly, pray for the team members and those they'll come in contact with. This ministry is entirely relational...and each day we'll simply be waking up and trying to find someone to share the Gospel with. We'd truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers!

loved today...just thought i'd let yáll know. i mean in case you can't tell how much i ADORE Holland. now you know.
after sticking around to chat with some peeps at the house for a while, Mish and i headed out with the intent to meet people. well, since it's sunday and all, no one's really OUT. nothing's open except the snack shop--which we went to--and the streets are fairly bare. but that's okay for us, cause Mish and i had a little adventure!! haha Mish found a little skate park and biked through it, but she kind of fell...lol Mish i love you!! we had a good laugh. then we came back and chatted it up with our home dawgs at the house and ate some GRUB. woot. basically life in Holland is amazing. can't wait to meet more people, continue building relationships...yeah. basically. cause that's what we're HERE FOR!!! i still can hardly believe that, by the way. it's so cool.
