In order to prepare for the nature of direct outreach in a postmodern culture, our team read the book "How Should We Live Then" by Colson & Pearcy. It's an excellent read for an introduction to worldviews, their effects and their results.
Some of the most influential books on the subject of postmodernism would be by Francis A. Schaeffer, including "The God Who Is There," "Escape From Reason," & "How Should We Then Live" (which obviously influenced Colson). First and foremost, this trip is 17 days long and for many team members it's the longest they've been away from home. We'd love to hear from you, so feel free to check back often and comment by clicking on the spaces beneath each entry!
Secondly, pray for the team members and those they'll come in contact with. This ministry is entirely relational...and each day we'll simply be waking up and trying to find someone to share the Gospel with. We'd truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers!

God is good. Mischien leven is machelijk. mischien leven is gek. maar altijd is for God. en God is altijd good.
Yesterday was filled with helping a few bike repairs and then venturing downtown with Mish, Kayla, and Oliva to try and find a few girls downtown. My mind is filled with trying to again figure out what to lead with youth contact for this sunday. Tomorrow morning we are moving houses so that the Philly team stays here. I really think it will be good as it will be a nice refreasher for us all. I'm eager to see what God is bringing with the Philly team this year as i met a few of them while visiting this past march. Peggy leaves tomorrow so we are trying to meet today before she heads out. I think yesteray was a downtime for our team as they all seemed a bit homesick. Being back at one of my three homes...i feel wrapped in God's peace. I find my favorite bridge at a point in the day to watch the wind slightly caress pink flowers as i sit on a dock by a canal and pray and worship to God. This country is amazing. I'm a little disappointed it hasn't rained yet as (in case you don't know) Holland typically has rain every day but not in this heatwave. Well, the team has to get up to pass out tons รณ flyers in preparation for the Philly team. I love you all.
